7:40 52 degrees, sunny

9:10 Ride into town, 4 extra miles, ½ of it up hill, to meet with Chris Lang for a whole $20 he gives me to buy fliers for The Dead Show tonight. Chris could have met me in town

In Town I Water The Jerry Garcia Memorial:

Nice Big Bumble Bee On The Mystery Flowers

Mocha at Fairfix Cafe. Hippie Patrick was there. He walks, or hobbles, way up the hill on Scenic in Fairfax everyday. Takes him an hour. I could do it in 10 minutes on my bike.

I should have had the Music CD ready to send to Zen Richard. The other day I gave him music CD of the Devas of Trance and it didn't play on his MAC. I hope this works

12:00 Rode down the hill and mail man was coming up the hill. He was early. So it get the Devas Of TranceMusic CD in today's mail for Zen Richard. He wants to go to Burning Man and needs to get use to it.

Transplanted some tobacco plants from the greenhouse starter (left) into peat moss thingies (right)

I did speak with Mark Watts (Alan Watt's good son) about Zen Richard and he said for me to call him on Monday. I told Zen Richard I'd try to get them together and trying to get a lunch out at Green Gulch Zen Center. Went there several times with the Paul of the Homeless Chaplaincy would have a lunch or dinner at some church once a month. It is very, very nice there.

12:13 Spoke with Mom for 4 minutes.

Added todays photos to the journal

1:02 That was 45 minutes?

Composed this to work in an email I sent to Mom.

Transplanted trial of Balkan Tobacco Sprouts from seeder starter green house into peat moss. Try 10 and see if they take OK. They are so small and I think once they sprout they need lots of fresh air which is not in the green house. They like the Carbon Dioxide to grow and be strong limbs.

1:55 Damn Tap To Click on my mousepad is acting up again. It is a pain in the butt and won't turn off Tap To Click. Synaptics Mouse Software Sucks, never works on any of the Acer Machines. I see I am not alone (Gripe #5): http://polygon89.wordpress.com/

Been trying to get a ride to Shoreline Dead Show in 5 hours. Yucky if I can't make it.

Spoke with Annette Flowers, maybe she'll help some more with Jerry Memorial

I hope Richard wants to go. Spoke with him, he's like depressed. This will help.

3:27 Got to reboot.

3:48 Took that long to reboot and get close to where I was before. 20 minutes. Mac boot in seconds, I may just need 2 more gigabytes of RAM would help.

I am not sure if this is even a dual core computer. They call them duo but only one CPU that works as 2 CPUs each running at ½ time. I guess that is faster. Not 2 CPUs though.

Mine does have 2 CPUs and I never even noticed they are 64 bit not 32 bit. I think I have 32 bit Windows though.

Too cool Some guy is selling tobacco plants on Craigs List: I'll have about 100 plants. If all goes well.

Hurry going fast sold several already and I’m the only one that I know of in NY that is selling good quality Tobacco plants and its all Organic no chemicals added. Be sure to order more than one so you will be set over the winter and next spring you can buy more plants. No sense buying outrageous cigarette prices anymore when you can grow your own.

Taking orders for Tobacco plants which will be ready to transfer into small pots in two weeks. I have 20 seedlings right now. Included with your order will be instructions on how to grow and cure your tobacco. Each plant produces 1+ pounds of tobacco and easy to grow. Why pay high cost in cigarettes when you can grow your own. I have a good rolling machine and can roll 20 cigarettes in 10 minutes and after growing your own tobacco only cost to you will be the paper tubes that cost only $3.00 per 100.= carton. Once you plant it in your garden it will be ready to harvest in September. Hurry and pre-order your plant today and if you order more than one plant then it will be $15.00 per plant. They will go fast and be sure to leave phone number. I will call 05-25-09 when they will be ready for pick-up.

Created a FaceBook photo album entry about the Jerry Memorial. I need at least something on Facebook about it.

5:03 Not making Dead Show :-( )-: Rather Be :-) (-:

5:13 Pack up mode for Dead Show. Penguin Costume. No computer.

5:40 Biked to Meet Richard in almost Fairfax. Show starts at 7:30 we'll never make it. Gone this far. Gave Richard $20 for gas he had FastTrak toll thing.

7:30 Drops me off at the gate and I see a place close by he can park at. Still lots of people and I walk around and pass out some fliers. Gave Richard my 2nd cell so we can keep in touch and we meet up at ticket office. They still have tickets for $46. I don't have that much money to my name.

Shoreline Amphitheater Mtn View, CA

The guy at the back stage gate, Don has been around and really like the Jerry Memorial and I gave him about 10 fliers and he says he will do good with them and lives in Marin.

Back Stage Entrance And Don Holding The gate

Ran into Diana Anderson who drove down from Marin with drummer Mickey. Real sad news, her father, Gene, a good friend of mine too, died. Simple procedure in the hospital and he got an infection, poof dead. That is a shock. Gene did real well in the early electronics industry and has quite an estate on the East shores of Tiburon. Benn retired for a long time so probably not much cash and fancy Tiburon property ain't worth anything now a days.

There was a young couple who wanted to get married by PenguinMan, just minutes ago got here from Utah. Had tickets.

The Hopefully To Be Newlyweds By PenguinMan They Are Too Cute From Utah

I must have been to 10 Dead shows at Shoreline and never ventured far from the arena area. Turns out they have a giant scene going on in the parking lot not far away I never even knew about.

They call it Shakedown Street after the name of a Dead Song. I have seen the scene at all the other shows. It is what makes the show. The hippy kids, traveling, selling their wares, playing their music, having a party. The Dead playing to me is 2nd bill. Doesn't really matter at all if you get in. You can her the Dead playing and this is where it is funner. Sweeter grapes.

A Woman Selling Flowers

Showed the 2 old fashion Fireflies I had and videotaped a couple of kids playing with them. Not best video, but one of the 3 kids was having a blast, about 2 Y/O. Usually better response.

PenguinMan did make a brief appearance and played a little.

Ran into an old fling from 20 years ago. Karen and her current bo. She is still very pretty and having a good time.

Beautiful Karen Hasn't Changed, Amazingly. Looks Scary Though In This Picture

I bought a pretty big cheese quesidellia with some trimmings for $5 and Richard & I shared it.

11:45 Richard wants to go, but I could talk him out of it but don't. I passed out about 75 fliers. Wish I was there like at 4:00 with 500 fliers.

1:30 Home and tired

1:50 12.5 miles biking, 1 cup of coffee.
