11:00 – 8:00
Woke up at Sleepy Hollow Sleepy House

8:00 I did wake up at 3:00 and was up for an hour so I got my 8 hours.

I forgot to mention in yesterday's journal. At the local High School, Redwood High's Graduation Ceremony yesterday, The commencement speaker spoke of PenguinMan as a possible role model for the graduating class. This is what 2 people told me. Don't know if it was complimentary or an example of things that could go wrong.

I wake up too late, at least 2 hours. Takes me the normal mew to make coffee, take a shower, have breakfast, pack up lots of stuff for the show / parade today. I got Landlord Craig to give me a ride and hit traffic. Duh...

11:00 Unpack and store stuff behind Rainbow Fabrics and I slip into the Fairfix patio and morph into PenguinMan. PenguinMan got in right before the 2nd to the last group in the parade. In front of the funny marching soldiers and last was The Starship Enterprise. I wore the new costume I have been holding onto for a year now. The one for Robin Williams to wear that will never happen. My beak is still kind of stiff and stuck up in the air. Wish I knew it looked so bad, I would have shaped it better. Can't tell inside the costume and didn't have a mirror. Where is my Personal Assistant when I need her?

It is ½ hour of dancing and singing. Working both sides of the parade audience. Kids do love it and he always gathers a crowd of little ones who laugh a lot so it is worth it.

Well I am at the Jerry Memorial and there is a big truck blocking the front. It was the truck rented by The Fairfax Festival Richard. Last year he moved the truck to behind Good Earth so we people can see us. Now we are totally blocked in. I do find Richard he he has frozen french fries in the truck and can't move it far, but does move it forward about 10 feet. At least we have a little space.

Eventually Jeremy comes by, after hanging the Jerry twirly Fliers. There has been a few people who either saw the article or been to the WEB site who did come by. On guy Phil, knows me and knows of me. He used to work at The Actual South Pole, studying the ozone layer for NASA. He is very supportive of what I am doing.

I set up what equipment I have. Actually never needed any microphones. I had wireless mics that worked fine. We were going to plug my 350 watt inverter into thtis guy whose car was parked directly above and at the Memorial so we had AC power. He had to have the car in the standby stage with key on or the cigarette lighter would not have power, so my inventor would not work unless keys were on. No go. We did OK with just the little battery powered amp I had.

Our featured musical guest Doug from Bolinas does appear and plays a bunch of Dead Songs on his guitar. I try to keepo up on the ukulele. It was rather uneventful, except for the occasional guest. It would have been a tiny but better if people realized we were there and the truck still blocking us from the crowds did not help. It was fun and worth it.

I wanted to take more photos, but my camera battery went dead. Guess I should have charged it before. It either shows fully charged or dead. Never in between. I should have known. Only happened once before that was inconvenient and unfortunate.

5:15 Show winds down and I stash my stuff in bushes and head over to the Kids Area. Zane is painting faces there still. There are not many kids or people left. PenguinMan does entertain the little ones in the ball park. Even 6 month olds get a kick out of PenguinMan. Takes them a little while to realize what is going on, but they start smiling and laughing. PenguinMan effects children that young. Back at Zanes face painting booth. Zane kinda just walked away and left me at her face painting booth with a big jar of money. I guess I should have waited for her to come back but I had no idea when. Put the money jar in the trust of the other face painting lady in their booth and walked around a little to enjoy what was left of the day.

Frank wants his synthesizer keyboards back to tune a piano off of. So I have him pick me up and all my stuff. I have a bit and he give me a ride home. While waiting for him I do a little food shopping and get a cup of coffee.

8:00 Home. I look at the comments in the Jerry Memorial WEB pages. 2 people said the “project was a joke”. One said it was to 70's kitsch the other said it was not fitting of Jerry and What would Jerry want. I want to write a WHY page for the site.

9:33 Wrote a “WHY or WHAT WOUL D JERRY WANT?” WEB page for Jerry Memorial and adding it to the site www.JerryMemorial.com/Why.html

Working on today;s journal entry

10:40 Now to add this to The Penguin Blog and post to Facebook. Maybe tomorrow,

11:05 Been emailing with Zen Richard Tangled Toy Creator, who is still in Hong Kong. He should be back this week. Been floating the concept of me doing publicity for Tangled Toys, trying to get write-ups in papers / magazines. He says he has a good story to tell. Maybe we can write a book. Will talk more when he gets back.

11:52 I did get 63 hits on Jerry Memorial site today. I think many from the link to Jerry on The Fairfax Festival Schedule Site.

11:55 0 miles biking, 1 Parade, 1 Gathering, Lots of Fun
